Crochet One

Once you learn the basic crochet stitches, you make a host of useful and attractive gifts for yourself or someone special.  Start with the basic stitches of chain, single, half-double, double, triple, and slip-stitch crochet, then progress to pattern reading.  We値l give you patterns for a project that you can finish at home.  Please bring G or H- crochet hook and 1 skein (3-4 ounces) of light-colored knitting worsted yarn.

Crochet Two

Learn to make scarves, baby blankets, granny squares, dishcloths, gift items and countless creative projects through Crochet!  Once you know the basic stitches, we値l cover the puff stitch, cluster, popcorn, and post stitches.  Patterns will be provided for simple and more complex projects.  Please bring G or H-crochet hook and 1 skein (3-4 ounces) of light-colored knitting worsted yarn.

New Course Adults and Children

Doll Making

Learn to design and sew a personalized doll for yourself or someone special!  Create a unique fabric doll, selecting hair color, skin tone, and clothing.  Please bring any special material you壇 like to incorporate. Sewing machines will be available to share- but feel free to bring your own.  Great parent-child class- No fee for child attending with adult working together on a doll- ages 5 and up.

Fee: $80 (No fee for child making a doll with an adult) (Plus $12 materials fee to instructor for fabrics, stuffing, and notions)

Drawing- Introduction

Learn to draw what you see more realistically, whatever your skill sets or background.  We値l cover the techniques of composition through the understanding and application of art elements and principles of design.  Instructor provides basic materials to begin class.  You値l leave class with a finished piece.

Eco Fashions- Create a Recycled Accessory

Love Fashions- and the Environment?  Learn to make funky fashion accessories using recycled fabrics and other items.  Please bring an old pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a favorite maganize you壇 like to recycle, and we値l show you how to design handbags, scarves, belts, jewelry, and other fashion accessories.  Great class for teens, parent/child, or those with a flair for fashion.

One Night Course

Flower Arranging

Explore the art of floral arranging, from how to pick fresh flowers and basic flower care, to small vase arrangements.  Delight your friends and family with beautiful floral arrangements you made at a fraction of the cost of a florist.  Great way to show off the flowers from your garden!  Please bring small vase or container and any clippers or materials to class.  Bring home your own creation at end of class.

Glass Bead Making (Lampworking)

Create unique glass beads using a special torch and wrapping hot glass around steel rods (mandrels).  We値l cover basic bead shaping and decorative techniques.  Please bring safety glasses to class.

Mosaic Coasters

Mosaics are fun to make and can be very useful.  In this hands-on class, you値l use colorful stained glass and ceramic glazed tiles to make a set of  four mosaic coasters. Great parent/child class to make a special set for your home!  Register early- class size limited.

Mosaic Flower Pot

Mosaics are fun to design and are a creative way to make useful items from recycled materials.  In this hands-on class, you値l add individual designs to a 6-8-inch flower pot using adhesive, grout, and decorative items such as shells, dish shards, faux gems, rocks, etc.  Please bring in any old or broken plates, shells, or other items to incorporate in your project.  Great gift for Mother痴 Day!  Register early- class size limited.

New Course

Painting- Acrylics and Color Theory

Start your painting project on the right foot by learning how to mix and apply colors to your painting palette.  Using acrylic paint to allow for quick drying and transporting your art, we値l also discuss painting in oils, watercolors, and other mediums.   You値l work on and possibly finish two paintings during this 7-week course.  Creative and fun class for beginners as well as intermediate level artists.

Pottery- Introduction

A six-week session of hand building with clay, pinch pots, coil pots, slab work, and simple glazing techniques.  Beginner and intermediate students welcome in a fun and relaxed environment.  Register early- class size limited.

Quilting- Memory Quilting

All you need is your imagination and personal fabrics to create a priceless memory quilt.  This unique form of quilting follows no rules for set patterns, as in Crazy Quilting.   Please bring fabrics with a special meaning for you, scissors, sewing machine (if available), thread and yarns.  Beginners and experienced quilters welcome.

Scarves- Sunpainting on Silk
Create a special mother's day gift, or indulge yourself with a silk scarf!  Learn a simple, but elegant technique to paint on silk scarves using photo-sensitive silk paints and salts.  Layer your piece with natural elements or cut shapes and expose in the sun to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind scarf.
Fee: $20 (Plus $15 materials fee to instructor for scarf and paints)

Sewing: The Basics and Alterations

Learn how to hem, alter, sew buttons, and other sewing techniques!  Basic sewing tricks of the trade can expand your family痴 wardrobe and make everything look and fit better.  We値l cover hand-sewing and straight stitching on machines.  Please bring thread to match and any garments you壇 like to repair/alter to the first class.

Tie Dye- Not Just for T痴

Tie Dye is all the rage again!  Bring in new, white 100% cotton tank top, T-shirt, etc. and we値l create a one-of-a-kind tie dye keepsake to launder at home and use with pride!  We値l have pillowcases and totes on hand to purchase and dye.  This hands-on class will also teach you how to tie dye at home with less mess for fun and funky fashions.  Great class for teens, parent/child, or those who love color.

Fee: $20 (Plus $5-10 materials fee to instructor for dyes and purchase of a tote or pillowcase)
